The ability to be self reliant is very important to our customers, most of whom strongly resist losing their independence. To have the ability to shop, post their own letter, and generally “do” for themselves is very important. It is often the difference between being able to remain in their homes and needing to relocate abruptly.
And just as important as independence, is having the freedom to be involved in a fulfilling and active lifestyle; the freedom to continue attending Senior Cits, or going to the local for a drink, as many have done for years. To be able to visit neighbors and friends for a chat and a cup of tea, or just be able to get outside to enjoy the beautiful weather we are lucky enough to have here in Adelaide. These types of activities are spur-of-the-moment, and can’t be scheduled into someone else’s busy timetable. It’s the freedom to enjoy life!
Of course, independence isn’t only about being able to get out of the house – it’s also about being able to function comfortably and safely with-in the house. Walkers, lift chairs, shower benches, hand rails all make living independently achievable for many more people. The requirements are endless, and so the importance of being able to cater for our customers needs is our prime concern.
